BE the Difference Workshops!

The goal of the 4C The Power program is to provide standards-based trainings by professional artists for youth in the area of the arts so they will become more engaged in school which will result in an increase in high school graduation rates. 4C The Power is also designed to assist students in building confidence through learning about their awesome potential through their own creativity, culture, and responsibility to the community.

On November 6th, 2009, 4C The Power held another successful workshop to coincide with the “BE the Difference” concert. We’re honored to be a part of the workshops alongside the Gamblerz, Seriously, Lawrence Kao of Kaba Modern, Vudoo Soul, IZ, Clara Chung, DJ Nick Fury, and Commoners & Kings.

BE the Difference

A huge thanks to 4CTHEPOWER and Pacific Castle for having us cover the “BE the Difference” event! On November 7th, 2009 the Hacienda Center, located at 1605-1695 S. Azusa Avenue in Hacienda Heights, CA (on the corner of Colima and Azusa where the 99 Ranch Market is located) hosted a benefit concert event from 11am to 5pm for Glen A. Wilson High School.

The purpose of the event was to help collect donations from the community to support the school’s budget. Wilson High School enrolls approximately 1,700 students but has a significantly reduced budget this year. The Hacienda Center intended to host this concert with the hope that the local community will embrace Wilson High School with services and donations that will better the future of the youth.

The event was held in an approximate 25,000 sq ft. closed off parking lot pad located within the center.

The lineup for the concert event consisted of the following artists:

Kaba Modern (featured on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew Season 1)

Gamblerz (World renowned B Boy group, Battle of the Year 2004 & 2009 Winners)

Vudoo Soul (appeared on American Idol)

Seriously (Winner of Kollaboration)

Clara Chung (Winner of ISA 09 JCPenney Schooled in Style Breakout Performer)

Alex Shiau ft. Vivian Chen

Catterfly

Jamie Hardy

Various Glen A. Wilson High School Acts

100% of the donations that were made went to Wilson High School during the event! There was also a really awesome Meet and Greet with artists after the event!!

Just Kidding Films

ISA: Los Angeles 2009

ISA is concert events company that seeks to showcase the brightest and premier talent among Asian and Asian Americans. What started off as a simple idea to uplift the community has now grown into a thriving and popular brand that hundreds of thousands of young people now recognize. Created by the artists themselves, ISA is the passion project of Wong Fu Productions and FarEast Movement, now set on taking their grassroots and personal connection to their fans to greater and inspiring heights.

After a short 12 months and two widely successful shows, Far*East Movement and Wong Fu Productions, in collaboration with JC Penney, brought ISA back to LA where it first started one year ago. Last September, the first ISA concert was introduced to fans and sold out to over 1200 seats. This year they brought it back to the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse to another sold out crowd of over 1400 fans. This year’s line-up featured: the winner of the JCPenney break-through artist contest Clara Chung, GLP (Gabe Bondoc, Leejay, and Passion), Kina Grannis, Quest Crew, David Choi, Tom Ngo, Cassie Ventura, Lydia Paek, Kev Jumba, The Stereotypes, Wong Fu Productions, and Far*East Movement.

ISA Ticket Tour

Wong Fu Productions and Far*East Movement set out on a ticket tour for their upcoming concert ISA 2009.

The lines were long, there was a buzz in the crowd, and there was music in the air as everyone lined up to purchase their tickets for the upcoming Southern California International Secret Agents Concert 2009. The fans were able to meet and chat with Wong Fu Productions, Far*East Movement, David Choi, and 4C The Power. The photos are from their third to last stop during the ticket tour, and we have just received an announcement that after their last stop of the tour, all the tickets have been SOLD OUT! Congratulations everyone on a sold out show! We will be taking photos of the actual concert on September 6, 2009, so be on the look out for those. Hope to see you all there!

Dr. Rosen Rosen, Dr. Hollywood, Beardo, Tom Ngo, Danny Cho, and Ben Baller opened up for the Far*East Movement for a sold out show at the Roxy in Los Angeles, California.

Calista Wu – “The Prologue”

Calista Wu hosts a special party to celebrate the release of her album, “The Prologue”. The Bordello Bar in Downtown Los Angeles was packed with special guests, family, friends, and fans all coming together to share Calista’s big moment.

Tatum Jones kicked the night off with a special performance. Calista followed with an acoustic set, singing and playing the keyboard to all five of her new songs (Black Coffee, Can You, Tell Me Your Story, Belong to You, and Dignity) and a number of covers. Peter Rocks DJ-ed for the rest of the evening, while guests mingled and waited for a chance to congratulate Calista personally.

Congratulations, Calista! We can’t wait for your next CD and your next party!
